Now, here are the lists of the top 10 international schools in Ghana that you may want to consider:

Ghana International School (GIS) is one of Ghana’s leading international schools providing world-class holistic education to children between the ages of 3 years and 18 years.
The school offers a curriculum modeled along the English National Curriculum and Cambridge International Examinations, IGCSE and GCE Advanced level with English language as the medium of instruction. 

Ghana International School after years of application and hard work is the first in Ghana to be accredited by both the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). 

The school is also an active member of the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA). As of September 2015, GIS enrolls approximately 1400 pupils and students from over 50 countries across the world. 

SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College (locally called HGIC) is a school in Tema, Ghana. It is a selective preparatory college that educates students from across Africa as well as from America, Europe, and Asia. 

With a Pan-African mission and philosophy, the school prepares young leaders who go on to top universities around the globe; with recent alumni going on to Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth, Stanford, MIT, University of Edinburgh, University of British Columbia, and the University of Cape Town.

The school offers two curriculums. Over the course of a 4-year program, students in the first two years complete the IGCSE and students in the latter two years complete the International Baccalaureate diploma or certificate.

SOS-HGIC has two campuses. The academic campus consists of classrooms, the library, computer labs, science labs, administrative offices, auditorium, dining area, and performing and visual arts spaces. The residential campus referred to as the hostels, consists of student residence halls, a central dining hall, track, soccer field, tennis courts, outdoor swimming pool, and gym.

Both campuses are fully wireless and have provided 24-hour security. Students typically walk between the two campuses, though shuttle service is available during inclement weather or late-night events.

Soul Clinic International School is an independent co-educational Christian School located in East Cantonments, a quiet leafy suburb of Accra, engaging students from Kindergarten to Secondary.

S.C.I.S was started in 1968 by the late REV. VINCENT E. McCAULEY, BTH, a Guyanese missionary of blessed memory. His vision was to give children a holistic training to prepare them morally, spiritually and physically in pursuance of their goals in the 21st century and beyond. S.C.I.S today continues the commitment to unite knowledge and good Christian principles.

The school seeks to encourage the students to combine academic ability and intellectual curiosity with critical thinking. S.C.I.S offers both Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and Ghana Education Service (GES) curricula.

Vilac International School is a coeducational institution established in September 2008 to offer   Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), Ghana Education Service (GES) and British curricula to meet the needs of the rapidly growing and diverse worldwide community.
It has two campuses (Lower school at East Legon. and Upper School at Achimota). It runs from Year 7 to 13 and SHS 1 to 3.The school offers examinations including Check Point (now Cambridge Secondary 1 for Year 9 students) and IGCSE which starts from Year 10 to Year 11. The IGCSE examination is conducted in May/June and SHS in form 3 (WASSCE). There is also the AS /A level for students who wish to continue sixth form.

5. Lincoln Community School 
Lincoln Community School is a private, non-profit, college-preparatory, international school.

There is an expatriate population as well as a large number of students whose parents are Ghanaian nationals.

English is the language of instruction. Classes are offered from Preschool through to grade 12.

The school year is divided into 2 semesters (August-December & January-June) and additionally into quarterly assessment periods.

Lincoln Community School is authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) to offer the Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP) and Diploma Programmes (DP). 

It is accredited by the MSA, CoIS and is a member of AISA.

Founded in 2006, the school provides an international education. AIS provides an American curriculum for students from grades Pre-K3 to 12th grade. The school offers limited bus service.

It has been approved for candidacy by the MSA and by the ACSI and is a member of the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS) which operates 20 schools worldwide.

Springforth International School is an English language Primary School from Class 1 through Class 6. French is taught as a compulsory foreign language for students in the primary school.

The school uses the British National Curriculum, Key Stages 1 & 2, as well as international textbooks and materials from the US and Ghana.

Admission is open to all students at least 3 months of age but is not guaranteed. All students are required to wear a uniform.

Springforth can be located at Trasacco Valley Road Adjiringanor – East Legon, Accra

BIS offers the British National Curriculum for pre-school and the University of Cambridge International Examinations Curriculum for primary and secondary education. Exams including the CIPP (now Cambridge Check Point), Cambridge Secondary 1, IGCSE, AS and A Level for children aged 1-18 years. Locate BIS On the Ghana Link road Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana.


Bilingual (English-German) international school with English National and German curriculum. From nursery to class 10 (ages 1-15 years). 

The upper classes are taught at three different levels of performance. In Secondary, the German curriculum (Thüringen) is taught with elements of the Swiss curriculum.

Tema International School is a private co-educational boarding school. It offers the IB programme for students post International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) enabling them access to international degrees and study abroad.
